Dave Pearson
Engine Expert – IA, A&P Mechanic
Dave Pearson started his interests with metal fabrication and design in high school, then pursued a degree in welding at the Olympic College from 1982-83.
He attended Colver Park Technical College from 1983-85 and earned his A&P certificate.
In 1986 he joins Pat Heseltine at Avian Aeronautics to continue his interest in aviation and metal fabrication.
In 1989 he earns his Inspection Authorization. Working along side Pat, they established a high level of quality and commitment to the customer that laid the foundation for Avian Aeronautics.
From 1986 to current, Dave Pearson has taught and shared his knowledge with dozens of mechanics both within the company and throughout the community.

Brenna Johnson
Aircraft Lead Mechanic – IA, A&P Mechanic
Brenna started her interest in aviation when she joined the Navy in 2001. From 2001-11 Brenna was a powerplant technician working on H-60 helicopters.
In 2016-19 Brenna continued her passion for aviation and attended Clover Park Technical College and earned her A&P certificate as well as an Associate of Aeronautical Science.
In 2019 she joined the team at Avian Aeronautics.
In 2024 she earned her Inspection Authorization and took on the role of our Airframe Lead Mechanic.

David Allen
Aircraft Mechanic – A&P Mechanic
Dave was a member for the USMC from 2002-2012, where he was working with F18’s.
In 2012 Dave went to Clover Park Technical College and earned his A&P certificate.
He started his career in general aviation at Hillsboro Aero from 2015-2016 where he also obtained his private pilots license.
2016-2021 Dave worked for Alaska Airlines where he started off as an Aircraft Technician and moved up to Line Maintenance Supervisor.
In 2023 Dave moved onto ATP Flight School to continue his work as an A&P.
Dave Joined the Avian team in 2024 with the desire to obtain his Inspection Authorization.

Mike Russell
Cylinder Expert – A&P Mechanic
Mike has over 50 years of experience in General Aviation.
Starting his career off with his private pilot’s license, Mike has over 3000hrs of flight experience, earning his spot as a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
He obtainer his A&P certificate in 2004 and has been with Avian Aeronautics since 2013 working as our lead Cylinder Shop Mechanic.

Ian Jimmink
Cylinder Mechanic – A&P Mechanic
Ian grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula and was interested in aviation from a young age. He attended Clover Park Technical College to earn his Associates degree in Aviation Maintenance and FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
He started working at Avian Aeronautics in the Spring of 2022 to learn the different ways we repair and overhaul cylinders and has begun learning the tricks of the trade from our Cylinder Expert.

Calvin Taylor
Aircraft Mechanic – Apprentice
Worked as an apprentice at ATP flight school from 2023-2024.
Joined the Avian Team to compete his training and obtain his A&P certificate.

Ryan Folsom
Service Writer
Ryan Folsom is a highly skilled and experienced Service Writer at Avian Aeronautics, a role he has embraced since February 2024. With a robust background in the automotive and heavy equipment industries, Ryan brings unparalleled expertise and dedication to his position.
Before joining Avian, Ryan dedicated 20 years of his career to Harley-Davidson Motor Co., where he excelled as a Master Mechanic. His extensive knowledge of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and his commitment to exceptional service made him a trusted figure in the industry. Ryan’s technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail were key factors in his successful tenure.
In October 2023, Ryan relocated to Washington, seeking new opportunities and challenges. His move to Avian Aeronautics as a Service Writer has allowed him to continue his passion for the mechanical field while also contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of service operations.
